The story of
Plutus and Bridge

When I set up Bridge Investment Advisors in June of 2014, many thought it was too competitive a space with many large players ruling the roost; as a result, I received very little by way of encouragement; One year at the outside, some soothsayers forecast. So it seems only appropriate that in our seventh year, we tell you the compelling story of our survival, and the big leaps we have taking into the world of fin-tech-frontiers unknown to us not so long ago.

Given the fragmented nature of our industry-with multiple touch points for multiple financial needs-there were always bound to be personal advisor biases creeping in and, therefore, advise that would more often than not, work at cross-purposes to each other. This wasn't actually good news for investors. But with a comfortable, age-old relationship going between advisor and investor breaking the nexus was a challenge.

Finding a solution to this poser was our entry point.

The solution was to build an always-online, fully integrated robo-advisory company that would be supported by a very powerful engine. The algorithms would not only fuel the company, they would also fully understanding your financial needs, offer unbiased and agnostic investment advice and give you the ability to execute decisions online from the comfort of your homes . Our intelligent tools would be empowered to prompt you on selected milestones and automatically rebalance your portfolios once indicated targets had been met.

Having done that, we wanted to do more! We wanted to offer our clients access to cutting-edge research and an in-depth analysis of mutual funds.

So we created a module for you to play with funds and see all possible outcomes. We gave you minutiae you never had access to before. The idea behind this was nothing but transparency-and peace of mind. We made it easy for you to assess your risk, create a portfolios (or choose from what we believe would be the best for you, basis your risk ), execute your investment decisions and track the progress your funds were making.

For the first-time investor, we made setting up an account so simple that he or she could start investing in less than 5 minutes. For clients who wanted to speak us, we offered the option of getting in touch with our advisors on the telephone, email or even a live web chat. For those of us to whom touch and feel is important we plan to have on-ground advisors in select metros so that an anxious mind can be put at ease by talking face-to-face with a human being!

With all of the above and with lots more to come in due time, I am convinced that we have been able to close the gaps that exist in the entire wealth management domain. We wanted to clear out the unnecessary clutter that forms such a big part of advisory today and most of all, we wanted to give you the freedom to access your portfolio on an as-is, where-is basis.

The next frontier..!

In March 2018, Resurgent India Limited came on-board as a strategic investor and we are now a part of Resurgent India Group as their wealth management division. Resurgent is a SEBI registered Merchant Banking company offering services like Mergers & Acquisitions, Private Equity, Debt Solutions, Structured Finance, Capital Market Solutions, Valuations and Resolution Professions for NCLT cases etc.

The idea behind the acquisition of Bridge was to increase Resurgent's overall presence into the financial services domain by offering a wealth management platform to its existing clients. For us, in addition to getting a strong financial backing, it meant leveraging the Resurgent brand and pan-India reach to grow the business and become a strong player in the advisory space. With this acquisition and over the next few quarters, we will have a pan India presence with offices in Delhi, Gurugram, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru.

With this change, we also wanted to create a new brand-identity which would depict what we really offered to our clients - robo advisory services.

For this, we created Plutus (Greek God of wealth and prosperity) - our friendly robo. Plutus uses his prowess to churn out unbiased, real-time advise so that you get to make financially sound decisions which truly depict your risk profile.

We are very proud of what we have been able to create.
